Arti Dixson

For more than 33 years, Arti has been providing assistance to the poor and less fortunate by distributing food, clothing, toys, educational assistance, and financial support to those in need.

Arti began helping our people in 1989 when a minister mentioned that the Immanuel Baptist Church in New Haven didn’t have any toys for their children. He organized the first Holiday Party to collect toys for children with about fifty people in attendance. Thirty three years later with over five hundred attendees Arti distributes toys to 17 locations in 14 towns. In 1990 he began teaching Nate Barns a blind student and coached him to gain the status of All Regional and All State drummer. Nate was accepted into Berkelee School of Music in Boston and now runs his own recording studio and teaches at an after school program in Bridgeport, CT. Arti continued helping our people 12 years ago organizing his first Help Our People food drive to support food pantries as well as families at poverty status.
